How we helped create a multi million $ tennis brand.

We started working with Aceify.Me in August 2019. Aceify is a platform for tennis players and coaches where one can book lessons, courts or even hit with a pro.

They are located in London, but in 2019 they were offering their services all over the UK. In 2022, Aceify is available only in London. This is one of the projects we are still working on but extremely proud so far. It a perfect example of how SEO works and how much time it takes to grow steadily and organic. In this article we will describe the methods that we used to achieve these results and continue growing.

The image below shows the performance over the year, from 2015 when the website was launched until September 2022. As you can clearly see, during this campaign we used along with our SEO techniques paid ads (the purple line), which had little success compared to the organic traffic from our SEO campaign.

When creating a marketing strategy, it is crucial to take into consideration both what the clients what and what the public needs, and we at RMGi do this by focusing on the purpose of the search while doing the keyword research (navigational, informational, and transactional)

One of our main focus when started working with Aceify.me was keywords. Targeting the right keywords are essential for SEO. When we started working why Aceify.Me, their focus was “Book a tennis lessons”, which might not seem as a bad, but after analysing the area and the target audience, we quickly realised that “tennis lessons near me” would be a much better fit. As shown in the imagine below, this change helped the ranking even from the beginning, show even better results in time.

For this, we use a range of tools to help us understand the needs of your potential clients, such as Ahrefs, FAQ Fox, Udemy, SEMrush.

Another strategy we used on Aceify.Me and had amazing results was backlinking. A backlink is a link created when one website links to another. Backlinks are also called “inbound links” or “incoming links”. In the screenshot below you can see how our client has now almost 4000 unique domains that are linking to it. The number of domains is different from the number of backlinks. For example, https://aceify.me/ has 15.500 backlinks, from 3.788 domains.

Gaining good quality and strong backlinks takes time, but we are more than happy to help and support you in this journey. For Aceify.Me we used multiple methods to gain these backlinks but the main one was guest posting and simply letting people know how amazing this platform is, so naturally they linked to it.

At RMGi we also offer technical SEO, which is all about the technical aspects of a website to increase the ranking of its pages in the search engines, such as making it faster, easier to crawl. For Aceify.Me, we audited the website and fixed the errors, so the traffic doubled in less than a month. Some techniques that we used include updating the old content, cleaned the 404 error and the redirect chains, focused on relevance and keywords not necessarily on the brand name for anchor texts especially.

Right now, https://aceify.me/ has around 20.000 pages and around 6 errors that we are fixing now.

Along with his, we are constantly optimising the Titles, Meta Description, and Meta Tags, so our client is always up-to-date and has the best chance in ranking first on Google.

Crucial for the website’s traffic is the content. We help our clients with this part of the optimisation as well. Content creation is a key step in the process of ranking first on google. Besides the fact that it needs to have the keywords spread across logically, the content needs to be good: it needs to keep the reader engaged, to give the information needed and to solve the problem the audience has. The aim is to provide value to the readers and the longer the text is, the better.

These are just some of our techniques that brought us results. For Aceify.Me, we are still working for better ranking, but as I mentioned in the beginning, the platform is for and about tennis in London, therefore a lot of competition, but the image below shows the most valuable pages (taking into consideration traffic, traffic value and search volume) and the ranking they have on Google. With a few exceptions, Aceify.Me is ranking for the first 5 positions for those keywords.
